School Holiday Activities for Kids

June 25, 2021

School holidays have come around again! Whilst we all love our kids dearly (and would happily stand in front of oncoming traffic to save them) it can be difficult to keep them entertained over long periods of time, like school holidays. Below we have listed 6 activities to help you survive the school holidays with your kids! They are simple, inexpensive and don't involve you leaving your home!

1. Play Indoor Hide and Seek

Not the most fun for adults, but it is worth it to laugh at your adorable kids hide in the exact same space every time!

2.Indoor picnic / tea party

Aldi is currently selling inexpensive wooden food toy kits, including salad kits, sushi kits, kehab kits, etc. You can sit there sipping your coffee out of a little tea cup whilst their imaginations run wild!

3. Face painting

Face paints are relatively inexpensive and a wonderful way to spend time with your children and use your artistic talent.  The below Spotlight pallet has plenty of options and easy to follow instructions.

4. Build a fort / cubby house

A favourite of my little toddlers activities! He plays in his cubby house made of pillows and blankets for hours by himself. Occasionally he asks us to come in, which just requires sticking your head in every so often and laughing with him!

5. Make salt dough decorations

Salt dough decorations are so easy to make - you only need salt, water and flour. You can make dinosaurs, handprints, Christmas trees, anything you have a mold of! Click here to see the best recipe!

Another great activity for your kids is BAKING!

Messy as anything, but they will love it! Click here is our instructor Kelly's amazing Banana Bread recipe!
